We have a new Leo that's about 3-4 months old, just bought her on Saturday. She looks like she is about to shed, but she won't go in her humid hide. She just moves from the warm side to the cool side. Is this ok? Should I be worried? Can they shed without using a humid hide?

Right now I'm using a plastic bowl with a lid that I cut a hole into that has paper towels in it, should I use something else?

Thanks for the help

My guy absolutely refuses to use his humid hide as well. I just monitor his sheds, and if he still has skin stuck on his toes after a day or two, I'll make him stand in a small amount of warm water to soften up the skin and then try to gently rub it off with my fingers. I'm thinking about getting a different type of hide in the future, just to see if the style of hide makes a difference.

They should be able to shed just fine without using the humid hide. If your leo looks like like it has a bit of white on it's toes after shedding just soak him in a tiny bit of 90-95 degree water for 10 minutes or so every night until it's gone. Put a paper towel in the water for him to climb on if you're worried about drowning.
