New Leo..First Timer..What is it? UPDATE New Crestie

Hello,

My little brother just turned seven and for his birthday my mother and I decided to let him get a lizard. When I was younger (23 year difference between my brother and I) we kept bearded dragons so we were originally thinking about getting him a bearded dragon because that is what we know, that is until we came across the leopard gecko below. So after talking to a knowledgeable staff member for a few we ended up coming home with a nice set up and a new gecko that my brother named "Cookie". I took the below pictures of "Cookie" with my phone. I was wondering if anyone could ID what kind of morph it is?

I am starting to research all of the different morphs that are out there. I have caught the bug and would like a gecko of my own. I still haven't decided in what direction to go but have narrowed it down to a crested or a leo... maybe both at some point. I was also wondering if anyone knew if/where I could possibly find a list of breeders in SE MI? There is a reptile show next month that I am sure I can get some additional leads from.

Anyway, pictures are below. Any ID help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with the above post, high yellow or hypo. As to the issue of cresties or leos, I have to say that both are AMAZING. I have one male crestie and 3 female leos that I love with all of my heart. My Crestie is beyond spoiled, very easy to handle, extremely soft, and rather fascinating. Plus he doesn't have to eat live food, but can live off of the Repashy complete powdered diet. Just add water and they gobble it up. But leos are very unique in coloring and personality. All of mine are brightly colored and very tame, but I'm lucky! Some can be kind of jumpy, same with cresties. Leo's have sort of sharp toes while cresties feel velvety. It really depends on your space availability. A single leo can live in a 10 gallon tank, but 20 is recommended. A single adult crestie should have 20 gallons or more and needs more vertical space than horizontal.

Thank you both for the replies.

I do have the space and did decide on going with a crestie today. After work I picked up a 29 gallon martymade tank (sliding glass doors) and some decorations/hides. I have a few more things to pick up tomorrow to complete the set up. Once the set up is complete I have been talking to a local breeder and she has a few cresties that are ready for a new home. Its coming together and I am getting excited.
