I recently picked up a Leo about a 4 days ago and he is only eating 1 maybe 2 crickets a night. Is that normal? Now I did re-do his whole terrarium today and added a few new hide outs and decor so maybe he has to get used to the new terrain?? I did see him how ever try and lunge for one but missed. Also the pesky little crickets like to hide in the corners behind rocks where the Gecko can't reach em, I figure they come out though when the lights are off... Anybody have any tips or ideas, he is a bit pale from when I first bought him home and Im wondering if its from lack of eating. Should I just get a feeder bowl and some meal worms?? All the help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

He's still new, it could take a week or two for him to feel like having a full appetite, but keep trying. Meal worms in a shallow dish certainly is a good idea. I like to fill mine up and all the movement gets mine going!

As for the pale part, sounds like it might be going into shed. They start looking sort of while right before.

when i have animals that only take one or two food items, i make sure they are BIG food items. i feed all 80 of my leos by hand using 9" long, bent-nose tweezers that i got from some surplus place. by holding the food in targeting range, the geckos get a free shot. the only downside is that any time i open the lid, the geckos come running with open mouths, sometimes leaping open-mouthed at anything that moves. if i want to handle them, i have to make sure they get past feeding frenzy mode or just give them a superworm. if they are eating, they can't bite me. lol.
anyway, that's how i do it.

good luck!
