Hi everyone, I am a new member and leopard gecko owner.

This is my little guy Roger! Around eight days old, eating brilliantly and already shed his/her first skin. All replies welcome 

Many thanks,
Linford

Thank you, he is super inquisitive and seems to spend a lot of time exploring. He/she only hisses when startled, otherwise climbs straight onto my hand :)

What food would you suggest to make this little guy put on weight? There are worms [wax I believe] in a bowl within his tank, but he/she only seems to only go for medium crickets with the jumping legs pulled off. My only concern is that I think he needs more weight on as his legs as they are extremely thin.

Many thanks for the replies

I would recommed small crickets or mealworms not wax worms as they are not very nutritional and if he/she is only 8 days old then it will still be awhile before he/she bulks up.

Also welcome to geckoforums.

Thank you, just found out they are mealworms not waxworms. I am gut feeding the crickets with carrot, as well as calcium powder coating them to make ‘Roger’ the leopard gecko big and strong :)

Another thing, how old before he/she develops spots and bright colourations. Also what would improve health and skin tone colour?

Many thanks

Checkout the general care and husbandry section, there's just OODLES of good info there. Your geckos colors will change as he grows - every one is different; and don't worry, those little stick legs will plump up soon enough. Just make sure you feed him just about everyday for the first 3 months, at least. I try to leave some mealies in with the bebe geckos at all times, just be sure to change them out/clean them out regularly.
