Hello to all. I am Joe from southern NJ. Just purchased the equipment needed to get a leopard; but wanted to wait a few days to monitor temp and humidity here. Got a 10 gallon with 2 5.5 inch overhead lights.......the one has a Zilla 50 watt black night heat light; and the other contains a Zilla 50 wattday white bulb. started running the lights last night; and highest temp I have gotten so far is 80 - 81 degrees using a ZooMed digital thermometer with probe. I know the temp is probably too low right now. What would you suggest to get the temp up a little higher for this size enclosure? I have included a pic of how I have the thermometers and lights arranged.

Welcome to the forum :) All the influx of southern Jersey folks is making me miss Wildwood :( FYI I did reply on your other thread about your habitat concerns so I won't repeat myself here.

10 gallon is fine for one adult. your going about the whole setup wrong though. Leos need a under tank heater preferred with some sort of light dimmer to adjust temps on the floor. Leos absorb heat through there belly. Place your temp probe on the floor to watch the floor temps.. You need a humid hide in there as well. you can use a tupperware container with a hole n the lid and place either moist paper towels in it or i use moist coco fiber. The heat lamps need to go.. Other then that, it looks ok :)
