Hi all thanks for reading ! I'm Colin and I'm 19.

I got my Leopard Gecko (Izzy) on the 20th of Aug (09). And just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly if that's ok =]. After reading a few threads I've discovered I bought my Leopard Gecko a bit too young ! oops ! My Gecko was 8 grams when I bought him/her but I've now got him/her up to 9 grams =].

(So far Izzy hasn't discovered the food bowl, so I offer him/her a few mealworms a day, he usually eats 2 or 3 before he/she has had enough!)

I breed mealworms myself, so all I've given Izzy so far is gutloaded, adult mealworms. I gutload them on oatmeal and carrots, I also put some *limestone flour* in the food dish with them, as I read somewhere I should dust all food items given to young leos ?

* = Is this suitable vitamin supplement ?

I also have a picture of my viv at the moment and wondered what you think.

(I just got the rocky outcrop because It looked kind of cool, but as of yet he hasn't figured out the entrance !)

Oh and here's a few pics of Izzy. Any obvious problems ?

A few Concerns ...
1) Can Leos spend TOO MUCH time in their humid hide ? Because mine only comes out when I have to move it to spray it.
2) He is okay just on mealies ?
3) Is limestone flour okay ?
4) Is it okay that he doesn't drink very often ? (once so far)
5) Is feeding him adult mealworms acceptable ?
6) Izzy has no idea where his foodbowl is.
7) Izzy is very inactive unless I move his hide.

Thanks for reading everybody I know it's quite a bit to take in

welcome to gf!

some very large breeders use nothing but mealies throughout the lives of their leopard geckos
for calcium, i would use a product made for human or animal consumption
keep fresh water available at all times.
adult mealies work fine, ime
show him the food bowl he'll find it again.
leopard geckos sleep a LOT!

hth!
