So I can't get my new ones until Saturday and I am bout as impatient about it as you can imagine. I said on another post somewhere that they were a High Yellow male and a Banana Blizzard female. I do have pictures however they are form when she got them I believe. I am a bit worried however bcause she said the female is under weight but is eating. She has them housed together at least til i get them and I will seperate them to reduce stress for the female. maybe she will gain weight better that way. She said they just came out of hybernation. Do many of you hybernate your geckos? It doesn't seem that common to me but I guess they hybernate in the wild right? So anyway I guess the male is quite the eater and she doesn't get as much but she said the female is active but thin. Unfortunately they have also mated a couple of times which I normally wouldn't be concerned about I suppose cept the females weight and whatnot. I have not seen any recent pictures so am not sure of the extrmity of her being thin. SHe said male is fat. I am concerned she may have problems with the eggs if she becomes gravid and I am assuming she will become gravid because they have mated. I have not bred any leos yet but want to in the future when i learn more about them and their habits. Whats your opinion on all this?

Sry so long

Well it depends on what she means by underweight. Some would say breeding at 40 grams might be underweight as she might lose some body fat and look thin to her if she is used to 70+ gram leopard geckos. Or she could mean underweight by a skeleton walking around trying to carry eggs. So I guess unless you ask her what their weight is or see them in person we won't know the extent of the possible problem.

I would seperate them immediately and place her in her own tank or rubbermaid and get her a moist lay box immediately. Make sure you put a bowl with a lot of calcium powder for her and plenty of mealies/crickets/and even some super worms if you can get them to help with fattening her up for the eggs.

Alot of people do hibernate, it does sometimes help stimulate breeding. I myself really don't. I leave the heat rope going so their warm spot stays a constant 90 degress and the room temp itself goes down a bit in winter just normally from like a constant 85 degrees to 78 degrees. This and keeping the light off in the room during the winter months is all I need to get them going and I don't have to worry about the whole losing weight issue. Probably not much help, but keep us posted how she is.

I think I remember those two, didn't you post their picture before? Would you mind posting it again in this thread, I might get a visual idea of conditon/age. Could you ask her an estimate of when the pic was taken? Some people don't think recent was a month ago others years. It's so nice you will pay/take them regardless of condition, I am sure they will be much better in your hands.
