Hi everybody

I'm from portugal, and i'm a new owner of 2 african fat tail geckos.

I don't know if they are wild caught or not, but from their behaviour i think they are.

The male is very agressive, he hisses and lundges at me, but the female with time i thing it will become tame.

I read a lot the threds in this forum , to be a good keeper, so lets see if i will be lucky.

But the first time the boy jumped at me, god , my heart really jumped:D

It was like the sound of a snake, and a huge jump at me. But otherwise he's a really good hunter, (ckickets only, they don't like worms...pitty)

Later i will post some pics

See you later:main_thumbsup:

Hi

I'm also from Portugal. :)

You can almost always say (in Portugal) that they are wild caught if they have regenerated tails, if they are somewhat aggressive/very shy and if they were cheap.

If they are wild caught it can be much more difficult for you to tame them, if ever. Sometimes, particularly when you introduce them to a new environment and if you put them together, the female is just intimidated by the stronger male. You should leave them separated and without disturbance for the time being.

They can go without eating for several days, it is a good idea not to give them food for a day or two (so not to stress them). Were they eating on the shop or on the breeder's house (you should have asked that)?

You should, also, asked the origin of the animals. ;)

Good luck
see you around.
