I brought my guy home yesterday afternoon and so hes just adjusting to his new home but I placed in 3 crickets for him to eat when he was ready and I havent seen him touch one. Even when theyre by his face he just looks and lets them go about their cricket business. Sometimes I worry theyre gonna get hungry if not eaten and nibble on the gecko.

The pet store had no clue what age he was so I dont know what to feed him really.

Should I change his diet slowly to mealworms? Right now I have about 40 crickets in a separate tank feeding carrots.

Reptile take time to settle in and eat. Some will eat the second the get to their new home other can take as long as 2 weeks.

Stress is a baby reptiles worst enemy. A picture of your set-up and temps would really help. Bad husbandry is the #1 reason reptiles dont do well when taken to a new home. (not saying you have bad husbandry).

Dont carry your gecko. Make sure it has a hot spot of about 91'F and a cool side of low 80's. Make sure it has a cool hide, warm hide, and humid hide.

Leave a worm dish in the enclosure and dont bug your gecko. If it is healthy and proper husbandry is met, it will eat in no time. If you feed crickets give it some time alone like 2-days and offer crickets, only leave like 10 PROPERLY sized crickets in there for like 24-hours, take out any uneaten crickets, because any uneaten crickets will stress out your gecko.

Just give it time.

Good Luck!

Heres a couple shots. Know how old he might be from his size? Thats a 15 G tank. I took crickets out. Might be one missing or hiding... anyways most are out and Ill try feeding him tonight when he wakes.
The temp on the cold side is about 82 and the warm side 87 but thats with the sticky thermometers. My digital probe is in his cave on the warm side (UTH) on the floor reading at about 91/2F.

(btw the pic of him below, the tongue was caught while he was blinking and licking his lips lol hes not like that all day heheh)

His setup looks great! :main_thumbsup:

Give him like 3-5 days to settle in, he looks healthy so 3-5 days without food wont hurt him. It will make him hungry and he will hopefully eat for you!

He looks great, especially the neenerneener shot sticking his tongue out at you :) Looks to be an adult or close to it, do you by chance know his weight and length? As Alex said, give him time to adjust to his new home without bothering him.

I dont but I could check. I havent picked him up yet and might not for a week or two till hes all settled in.
Hes eating crickets well now. I hate crickets. about 10 got out of a hole in the cricket prison so now I see the occasional cricket in my apt. Not happy.
I think Ill order some mealworms from somewhere online. My pet shop sucks.
