New Owner - Shed Question

I've had my first leo for a little over a week now and noticed some shed skin in his cage one day. He didn't eat it and he also didn't turn all whitish/gray like I often see in pictures. Do they sometimes shed without it being so obvious?

I've been looking really closely at his toes and tail and don't see any signs of shedding (not that I fully know what to look for).

Thanks!

They will leave a little shed behind sometimes, nothing to worry about. Sometimes when they go into shed, they get white and shed so quickly or overnight that you dont even see the skin start to change, again, nothing to worry about. And if you cant see any skin on their toes, tail tip, or anywhere else (it sort of looks like you took that part of the gecko and dipped it in wax.. idk how else to put it, but its usually pretty noticeable) then you're all good! Have fun with your new buddy! :)

I'm new to leos too but I think it's a little normal for them to not eat their shed at times and also not really turn noticeable as well.

But I'd wait for a more experienced person to come soon to totally confirm.

Its ok if they leave bits and pieces of skin behind, this happens sometimes and is normal. I'm not always able to catch my geckos shedding; as Bridgette said, sometimes they do it real quick or did it overnight that you just won't notice.

Its great that you checked him all over for retained shed; I do that too right after each one's shed. Its easier to get retained shed off if found earlier.

Thanks all for the responses. I'm a little more at ease knowing that he probably had a quick shed that I didn't see.

My daughter wanted to save the shed he left behind as his "first shed". She really loves him.

Thanks again!
