Hi, all. I'm new to owning reptiles. My 2 boys (9 and 11) have friends with leos, and after a couple of months of research, setting up a tank (with slate tile as the floor, as you can see below), we got two leos last week. They are pretty shy so far, having just moved in, so I had to lift their hide to be able to get a pic of them together. Two females. If anyone can help me ID their morph, I'd appreciate it. :main_robin:

I would appreciate any and all useful info. I just found out that I've probably been feeding them the wrong worms. I didn't know there was a difference between superworms and mealworms..... They've been getting the supers the past 3 days. Is this bad? I read that supers are for "treats" about once a week or so. They are eating, however, and for that I am glad. I just got a couple dozen crickets at the store too...gonna try them out in the next few days. However, it seems that worms are the easier food to use (and my wife has a thing against crickets in the house--worms can be easily hidden in the fridge--mealies, I've read--or elsewhere). Any votes for either worms or crickets? Also, what is the overall sentiment between superworms and mealworms?

Yes, I have a warm and a cool side. In the middle I have a half-log with moss in it. The two leos are in a 25 gallon tank, so they'll have plenty of room. I'm told they are about a year old, and are both female. One seems more adventurous from what I've noticed so far.... One is named Athena. The other doesn't have a name yet, but wanting to stick with the Greek goddess theme. Ideas are welcome.

Artemis! I love naming my animals after greek god's and goddesses. My dog's name is Apollo, but he was given to us with that name. Is the 25 gallon a tall or long? They need more floor space than height. I've seen a lot of people feed supers as a staple diet, mealworms contain more chitin so they can have a harder time digesting. Crickets are great and so are roaches, hornworms are another great feeder that you can feed as a healthy treat vesus wax worms and phoenix worms are good as well. I love that tile to.

We have a 25-gallon long tank. As for the tile, I got it at Lowes. It comes as square inch tile squares that are on a mesh backing, making them easy to cut to size. Sand-colored grout in-between the square tiles, and voila! So far, one gecko will eat anything. The other (Athena) seems to only like mealworms, and will only eat them when they are in the bowl, not when dropped in front of her, wiggling around on the tile.
