Hey guys I just got a Pictus from a friend who is getting more into chelonians but happened to have a Panther left over from previous breeding projects. She said that the male escaped and if she couldnt find somewherelse for it, she would just feed it to her Pac-Man!!!! (It made me want to post on this old thread while looking for housing info earlier).
So I asked and she gave me everything that went with her. She's in a 10g and had about 2 inches of peat covering a carpeted floor. It was smelly, filthy, and disgusting!
Did a bunch of research and will deconstruct the train wreck and go get a new 10g and put down some repti bark with moss in it and just ordered a few really awesome hides for her. I will post pix later of the new one once its all set up. Maybe a mate for a little while, who knows. Are snows hard to find? I think she's a normal and she likes to be tub fed roaches and crix (partly because I mist the bin to stick down the papertowel) I'll try mealies next.

Just in case its hard to read through all that fudge:
1) Are large size bark chips partially covered with moss of some kind an okay substrate?
2) As she was used as a breeder would finding a mate for her be out of the question?
Thanks for the advice!

nice looking litle pictus. I wish you lived by me I would have a anther girl for you.
The way you described your plans for the tank sound good. As far as finding a mate for her I don;t think is out of the question. That is also going to depend on her age(but she looks good to me)
I do hope you fix that tank up I can smell it from here.
Best of luck to you, and your new gecko

I only had one for about 8 months and she was also very skiddish but did seem to be calming down or warming up to me in the short time
