Stella, my smaller leo is a female. I just got her tonight and the previous owner didn't know how old she was.. I was wondering if it would be ok to put her with my 6 year old male..? He is amazingly calm and subtle, and i really couldnt see him attacking her.

Sorry i should have posted in the intro forum, but i had a question too =]

I personally wouldn't due to extra stress put onto the female. I follow the rule of thumb, being if you plan to breed house them together for a short time, if not, don't. I've never bred myself, nor do I plan to...But I have 3 males and 2 females and none of them are housed together. I've seen males housed with females and some of the females just kept laying eggs after eggs, they started not to eat, went through horrible shedding periods, had numerous cuts/bites from the breeding. I just don't think it's worth the stress when you can run to Walmart or any store and buy a $10 tupperware as a temp. cage. Not to mention if you don't know the overal "condition" your new gecko is in. It could have parasites or something else, it's best to give them a quarantine period.

Thanks for the quick reply. She came with a 10 gallon, so i have a home for her. Im taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her sexed and make sure she is a female, and get her dewormed.
