Finally I built my first rack, and it really didn't cost that much heres some pics

just got done constructing it, only took about 10 minutes

Now I added the tubs

I didn't want to add the pegboard on the back until the flexwatt came in, but I was to impatient to see the finished product so I did anyways, shouldn't be that big of a deal

ahh beautiful Iris tubs

heres the rundown on how much everything cost

melamine-32$
screws-5$ with enough left over to make 50 racks
tubs-40$
flexwatt-40$ prewired
and a role of foil tape-12$

So in all it didn't really cost that much,
heres a highly reccomended link where I got the plans from

very nice

Thats is a very nice looking rack. I was amazed, when I built mine, at how fast it is to build. I was also in shock at how much the total of the the tubs were. When you think only $0.99 or $2.49 each, it never seems like its gonna add up to $50+.

What is the dimension of your rack? I think I like the lower and wider rack like yours. What size tubs?

Thanks.

Nice Rack. I am going to need to build a couple more and that will work perfect. Are those 6qt or 15qt tubs?

nicely done.. is it easy to remove the peg board? because wiring the flex watt from the front can be a nightmare. I did it on my first attempt and practically went insane. Mine was 11 shelves though.

Looks great though!

Yeah the tubs really do add up, especially at 3 bucks per tub. The dimensions are 4ft wide, 2ft tall, and 18 inches deep. Yeah I really like the wider type as well, you don't have to deal with as many outlets from the flexxwatt. The tubs are 12.2 quart

The Iris tubs I got from a guy I found on Kingsnake, luckily he lived in Texas so he was able to meet me at a show so I could buy them. He doesn't have any ads posted right now but I know he does ship, I was talking to him about getting some tubs for a hatchling rack. Pm me if anyone wants his email address to order from him, hes a really good guy, I'm about to order some roaches from him!!

Eeek thanks for the advice, it shouldn't be too hard to get it off. the pegboard was screwed in but only had like 8 screws
