I've been working on developing these tanks for a few years. After trying various glass thickness and styles I've developed this:

Cool huh? Finally a nice European style tank in the US. I can't wait to set up some herps in them.

No kidding, I just built one of those. I am gonna breed red-eyes in it. What are the dimensions of yours? Also what are you gonna use to open the front? I used some serious plastic epoxy to adhere a acrylic hinge and an acrylic pull knob. Looks good. What thickness of glass did you use?

Using silicone for the hinges on some, arcylic hindges on others. Where did you pick up your hindges? I used 1/4" glass.

It keeps the lid down and allows a full view of the animals when you lift the lid up. Can't get that with a sliding door, and no chezzy plastic to keep it shut.

Cool tank, Justyn! Forgive me, but what is the benefit of the slanted side?

So does the final product just come out as glass like that or are we offered some trim pieces around the edges in the final product? I saw your classified on Kingsnake. I've been contemplating chondros and cat geckos and am comparing glass options to me building acrylic enclosures. Do you have any finished pieces or is that it? Does the lid open to the top, bottom left or right?

Sorry for the barage of questions, just interested is all.

It's all glass, no trim. I have a few pics in the next few days of the finished product. The lip opens to the top. I like these over arcylic just because arcylic are extremely difficult to keep clean, and become scratched. It does use arcylic hinges and an arcylic lock (if wanted). Glass took a while for me to learn how to work with it to make it look attractive.
