Hi I am in the process of setting up a new tank bought some vinyl tile as the substrate and please see the pics. The til is not big enough to use just one piece so I had to cut a smaller piece which is obvious in the pics

I wanted to know how I can seal the gap between the two tiles is there any way to use some sort of duct tape or filler to make sure the Leos toes do not get caught. My worry is that he will lose toes or get injured from the gap, sounds silly because I am sure it is much worse in the wild.

Thanks in advance

How about silicone? I certainly wouldnt use duct tape. #1 Its an eye sore, #2 It would trap dirt along the sides, and be difficult to clean. #3 Your leo could get stuck to it.

you can use aquarium silicone which is non-toxic when it cures. However, the fumes are extremely toxic when curing, so you'll have to keep your gecko in another enclosure for 2-3 days (most silicone says 'cures in 24 hours', but I wait until the smell is completely gone to be safe)

I know THIS will stir the forum up, but I use Play Sand.Very Small Grain stuff from walmart...Keeps the tile from sliding any also.Looks Great and I have never had a problem. DON'T USE LOTS, JUST ENOUGH IS WHAT I SAY!!
