I'm pretty sure you will get some criticism on putting gravel in your Leo tank. Some people can be harsh... So I'm going to go ahead and say it nicely.
Though it does look nice, I wouldn't recommend gravel in your tank. It could cause impaction if your Leo accidentally ingested some while going after insects. When I first got my Leos, I wondered about using aquarium gravel, but after research I learned its better safe than sorry to not use anything that's small, loose particles.
Most recommend paper towels, not my preference though.. my Leo's toes hang on to the towel when I try to pick them up. LOL. I think that some stony-looking tile would look great! You could use ceramic, or like me use the thin kind that has the sticky on the back. Its easy to cut to shape, and very easy to clean.
Thanks for your advise Megan.
And I was so happy to finally be able to toss the sand.
I'm not really happy about the idea of putting in paper towel although it's a whole
lot easier to clean.
So far I never had any problems with sand or gravel. I feed the ones in those two terras
by tweezers which already minimizes the risk of ingesting sand or gravel.
But I do like the idea of tiles very much. I did put in a few already where the geckos
usually do their business because it's really difficult to clean up the gravel.
