New to breeding have not started and do not have geckos yet, but experienced reptile owner. Just wondering if you were starting fresh which to morphs would you breed? and why? what will they produce?

I would first research genetics and look at pictures of witch animals I like. I would then make an educated purchase of witch animals I enjoy. Then I would buy then as juvi's so I could have atleast a year experience before breeding. Then I would breed my selected pair.

Pick what YOU like don't pick what other people do.

in my opinion, it depends on what your reasons for breeding are. if you are breeding for your own pleasure it doesn't really matter what you pick. if you're breeding to sell the offspring then it pays to produce what the market wants. retail stores won't be so much interested in high-ticket morphs like enigmas or raptors and will want normals and high yellows.. maybe patternless or mack snows...

it costs the same to feed/breed a Super Giant Mack Snow Enigma Raptor as it does to feed a normal leopard gecko but the compensation can be quite different.

learn the genetics. that's good advice regardless of your motivations!

good luck!

I've noticed because of how many people that have leopard geckos... it is not PROFITABLE for the 'new guy' ... I breed my leos but its jus a hobby, if I dont sell them I'm not worried bout it... I"ve talked to many leo breeders that tell me when they sell them, they sell them wen they don't they DONT!! So you have to be prepared to have the space and equipment for the babies you do produce!! :)
