Ok well to start off I recently got three leo's from my gf's family *one normal, two patternless* The normaly eats and poops like a champ, no issues with her one bit. The two patternless on the other hand are not.

Now onto why i put it in this section, and if wrong area please move/delete if need be. Well recently the two patternless will not eat and have a slightly brownish color. I know of brumation could be the reason for not eating, but the brown? I read that it could be because it is to cold or just a natural color darkening *I know one of them shed recently, not sure on the other* I am working currently on keeping the temps on warm side mid 90s, and cool side roughly 80-85. I am still in the adjusting phase of getitng things right for them.

I have a UTH *which I think might be to small, does not fully cover the warm area side* and a light with a red bulb I believe it is in it *very dim* For substrate I use either the carpet or paper towels. I would post pics, but sadly my camera is broken at the present time.

Any suggestions, and if any more info is needed, please ask away. This has been bothering me for the last few days to the point of not sleeping and just reading all I can on the net.

Well the normal is in my room, while the two that are not eating are in my nephews room *those two are his*, but my room is a tad more on the cold side, which makes no sense there to me. Mine is still eating every bit that is put in her cage, while they may eat one if that...and boy is hunting down crickets not fun.

I am thinking of maybe putting them in my room to see if things change, and opening up the vent for more heat to come into here.I been looking at so many options to see what I can do to make sure they are ok. Thanks for the advice and anything more is appreciated.

Well this is just a theory, but if the two are together it may be a good idea to keep a close eye on the signs of a dominance struggle. As I always warn, I may be wrong and someone may need to tell me if this is hogwash, but if you notice scratches or anything on either of them it may be a good idea to separate them. Food is holy in gecko land, and an infringement on food is an act of war. So perhaps the two are stressed from their rivalry and refuse to eat save occasionally? The browning can happen quite rapidly, the little patty(I'm hoping I recall correctly that he was some kind of patty) my gf got was a white/very pale yellow, until he shed. Under his shed was an earthy brown, if these two came from the same pet store or breeder their genetics may be similar or they may even be related. That could explain why both are the same way. Sometimes genes just trump everything.

Another thing to look out for is if the 2 patties are being pestered by your nephew. If your nephew is always picking them up or tapping on the glass that could cause the leos to be dulling in colour.

Still one more thing to look at is lighting, can they see the prey ? I have found that in general the more dramatic their mutation the poorer their eyesight, and more so, when involving eye mutations.
I would guess also that the browning is temperature related and suggests a need for higher temperature.
