Just got our 2 female Geckos Tuesday. I think they are settling in good. They both ate about 8-10 mealworms each last night. They change back and forth from cool hide to warm hid. One of them shedded the very day we got her. But I still see some skin on 1 back foot. We have not pick them up yet cause want to give them time to get use to us. But I am concerned about the skin on her back toes. They dont go in the moist hide at all. I put the moss in it and spray it down but they have never went in it. Should I be using something else like paper towel in the moist hid?
Just worried they wont shed correctley if they dont use their moist hide.

Thanks any advice would be great.

put her in a warm water bath for 10 minutes or so. That might loosen it enough for her to get it off.
I use a square tupperware bowl with about 1/2 in a warm water and them just hold the cover loosely over it so she cannot get out.

Also the quickest way for them to get used to you and their surroundings is for you to handle them. Your touch will act as a way for them to feel secure and this will also help for you when they are older to keep them from being so skittish to your touch. :)

Are you sure you don't want to change this post in any way?

Wrong, wrong, wrong... Please disregard the above post. Geckos do NOT want to be held. They will never feel secure with you. I'm sorry you may think they trust you but no.

If you keep the humidity like on 40 it helps prevent shedding problems. I only soak when it's a MUST.
