I have kept fish in the past and have both a 20 gal (H) and a 29 gal tank, I am hoping to use the 29 gallon at least in the home of at least 2 leopard geckos in the near future. I am wondering what I will all need to get started, and I know maintenance costs will be required and money will not be an issue there, though the initial start up fees are something that worries me, what will everything I need cost? and where is a cheap place to get the actual geckos while still being able to get a healthy gecko? I live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.

Start up costs are not that bad.

Heat pad, thermostat or rheostat
food, water, supplement dishes
hides x3
screen lid for the tank
paper towels for substrate

Thats the majority, I am sure I am forget one or two small things. I prefer breeders versus chain store geckos. If your in Wisconsin you should check out garrick demeyer at crested gecko. He sells alot of nice geckos and if you want a hatchling then you can get one at a good price. Hatchlings are a touch tougher to keep but if they are healthy then it isn't too much more difficult.

Brians pretty much got the most of the stuff you'll need and Im currently incubating eggs I live in Cedarburg WI! If your willing to wait a little bit while getting start up supplies! Im currently incubating for females.

To save money you can use those disposable containers for hides as well! I also find that petsmart has better prices then Petco but I think all you have up in Oshkosh is a petco. Pet World is also decently priced for temp probes and such..and have their UTH on sale at 25% off every few weeks.
