New to Leo's... Question?

Hi everyone, long time Reptile owner, but never had Leo's. (Snakes mostly). I am currently doing my homework before diving into a Leo or two. I have been searching the net, and you will probably see me posting a few newbie questions here and there also.

1) I thought I would be able to house two Leo's in a 10 Gallon aquarium, but now I am not too sure. How would two adult females do in a 10 gallon?

2) Is there a good tank someone could recommend for two Leo's out there? Maybe an Ecoterra, Glass aquarium, etc...

3) Are Leo's on the social side, or do they do well on their own as a solitaire animal in a cage? I have always tried to keep more than one animal if they tend to have social personalities, unlike the snakes I keep which do better in a solitaire housing situation.

Thanks to who answers...

1. a 10 gallon is way too small for 2 leos, its barely enough for 1 adult.

2. a good size for 2 leos would be a 20 long tank.

3. from what i heard, leos are solitary animals, if you want to keep 2 of them together then make sure you have plenty of hides and to observe them to see if they get along and preferably personally feed them that way one doesnt eat everything but what ever you do dont house 2 males together lol. hope this helps

welcome! Leos are addicting so beware :)

1) a 20 gal long would be better for 2 females. But you should make sure there are enough hides and watch them to see how they react. I would also agree with the above about feeding them seperately.

2) The ones that I have in tanks are the basic glass setup with a mesh lid.

Good luck! This place is great for information. You can find almost anything under the search button or just ask :)

1. A 10 gallon tank can house one gecko comfortably for its whole life, but not two. Are you planning on getting two geckos at the same time? If so, unless they've been living together for some time in their previous home, you will need to quarantine the geckos - separate them from one another. You don't want any possible disease being passed.

2. Just a good glass terrarium is perfect.

3. Leos are healthiest and happiest living on their own.

3. It depends on the leo, I think. I have one who absolutely loves living with a roommate, one who enjoys it, and one who is like "lady, I already have to put up with you, you keep other geckos away from me".
