Yesterday my friend picked up a nice wild caught male tokay at the repticon her in orlando. He is active at night and he is acting like a healthy evil tokay. However, I have a few concerns. First off, from i got him, the pads on his toes were not 'sticky' like they should be. From what i understand, many tokays suffer from this when owner first get them due to stress, how can i help get him climbing glass again? I also read that Repta-aid helps for this. My second concern is that he is not as plump as i'd like. But from what i understand, this is normal for new wild caught geckos. I havent been able to get him some food, untill today so im not sure how his apetite is but i am confident that he'll be eating just fine. So, do you guys have any advice for me and this new tokay?

With any wild caught animal they have a risk of carrying parasites. I found this out the hard way with my first gecko. If he starts eating well and gaining weight he should be OK but if he isn't gaining any weight I would recommend getting a fecal done. I'm not sure about toe pad issue hopefully someone with more experience will be able to answer you.

I think he has regained some stick in his toe pads, he is clinging to branches that he was slipping off before, however he is not quite climbing glass yet

Awesome. Someone else who's caught the tokay bug. I have one currently, Galactus, and she lives up to her name some days. I still say they make awesome pets even if you can't reach in and have them hop right onto your hand (not mouth first).
