Hi all,
Managed to get Norma a much nicer 36" viv for not too much. I just wanted to ask for some advice and stuff. She has a larger heat mat now and doesn't seem too stressed by the move, its about 31.5 degrees celsius in the paper substrate.
If you put your hand in she'll still come and investigate or climb onto it, but I've been trying not to handle her yet. She ate 3 or 4 mealworms the day I moved her, then the next day about 5 crickets. Since then though she has only eaten 1 or 2 crickets and they have to be right in front of her face to eat them. She's spent more time than before in her moist hide and I'm wondering if she's suddenly decided she wants to brumate. I'm in central England and it's become much colder just in the last week, 5 or 6 degrees C in the daytime and 3 or 4 at night sometimes. What signs should I look for?
I guess otherwise it might be that she is finding the big viv a bit intimidating? It's a lot bigger. The first 2 days she seemed to have a proper wander about and investigating everything but now she is spending 98% of her time just hiding and often I won't see her all day or night (that I know of).
Also on a side note. I think the viv was used for a beardie before and so has an exo-terra fluorescent light fitted and also a basking lamp in the corner. I haven't used them but just wondering if she will benefit from either or if I should leave them be? You see lots of different info about that kind of thing so any advice would be brilliant.
Thanks for any help
