I have placed my 2 yr old male SHCT into my 2 females (~65g). They seems to not care about each other. The females had stopped eating for a week, and one/or both of them has been digging in a particular spot in the humid hide.
My questions are...
1) this is the first time I had place a humid hide with moist vermiculite for the females. They had been on paper towel-wrapped sponge based hide in the pass (this setup has less pinhead infestation..). Are they digging due to normal behavior (they went thru' 2 inch of substrate and reach the bottom and make a mess of the corner of hide).
2) The females had stopped eating 1 week after the introduction of the male. However, i had been recently converting them to eat superworms, which they don't touch much till they are very hungry. My friend has told me that since my females are reaching adulthood their appetite will decrease and nothing to worry about. is it true? or is it because of normal mating behaviour? or is it cos of the male presence? how many superworms does ya geckos eats on avergae?
Lastly, I finally seen my BigGuy courting and doing his deed with one of the female yesterday night! I guess hes got lucky on Valentines day! :main_laugh: :main_rolleyes:
