I've been thinking about getting a leopard gecko for a while now but the only thing holding me back is the food aspect.

I only owned crested geckos so far and I only feed them CGD so I have NO experience with feeder insects.

I know the main staple diet for leos is crickets and mealworms but I just HATE crickets and I don't think mealworms alone are good enough.

I've read on a few caresheets that earthworms are in the list of insects you can feed leopard geckos.

Would a combo of mealworms and store-bought cut-up earthworms (dusted with calcium every other feeding with multi-vitamins once a week) be a good diet for leopard geckos?

Personally, I would just go with mealworms and superworms. I haven't heard of a lot of people who've fed earthworms, though.

yeah I agree with Joey...there are soooo many different feeders you can feed. Butterworms, silkworms, reptiworms, hornworms...and of course your mealies and supers. that really you would never have to do crix. now price is going to be the thing here(butters, silks, horns) but if you REALLY hate crix then it should be worth it.

Thanks people! Superworms and mealworms does seem like a better option if leo owners actually used this diet with success.

Is gut loading alone enough to make these guys nutritious or do I have to dust as well? If so, how often do I dust?

Those are difficult to dust and get it to stick...if you get your leo's use to eating out of a worm dish you can put Vits and calcium dust in with the worms and your leo should get some that way...I have dishes of calcium in my Vivs at all times..that way I don't have to try and guess...they lick it up when they need more calcium.
