Aw! Good luck with the little guy!
I've never had a bit of luck with birds. Hope he does well for you!:main_yes:

Call a wildlife rescue organization in your area. They deal with this type of stuff all the time, and probably have the best chance of getting it raised successfully.

Yes dont try to do it yourself most likely it wont have the out come you are hoping for. Not that im doubting your ability but its best to leave it up to professionals.

I had a situation similar about 2 years ago. My neighbor knew I like animals soo when he found a group of baby bunnies in his yard he put them in a box and told me he didnt want his dog to eat them. Well... they were almost ready to leave the nest. They had full hair, wide open eyes and looked like perfect rabbits just small. So we decided to keep them for a couple of days to make sure they'd be ok. We bought some formula and offered it along with hay, rabbit food and grasses. They all seemed to eat solids already soo we put them in an outside pen over night with shelter and stuffs. They were perfectly ok. So we let them on their marry way. All in all it was an awesome experience. Even the runt survived. But if they were any smaller we would of called the wild life rescue.

I've done rehab work with bottle-fed bunnies, baby Robins, and bottle-fed Raccoons, but not quail. It depends on the nutritional requirements, which your area rehab should be familiar with. Some birds have diets higher in grains, fruits, etc. and can be supplemented with doctored up commercial baby hand-feeding formula. Others, such as the Robins we cared for, needed a higher level of protein, and we had to provide more meat-based nutrition (mealworms, earthworms, etc.), as well as fruits.

go to a feed store and ask for quail food, make sure the water dish is filled with marbles so it can't drown itself and give it a heat lamp on one side. we hatched quail eggs in middle school and i took half of them home and raised them until they were old enough to let go.
