I just wanted people to post for some ideas on enclosures.
My tank is a custom made
1.2 metre length and depth of 70cms and height 60 cms.

All i have seen is sand, a hiding box or lair and heater.

has anyone made a nice tank, with plants and wood and things? or should i just leave open spaces?

its a big cage and eventually will house more females.

should you have two hiding boxes? a humid one and a normal one?
or can you have just one hiding box that is humid?

My tanks aren't custom built but they are decorated like you're looking for. I like purty yet function tanks. :)

Built in cat nap map. My cats both sleep on top of the tanks with their feet or head under the heat lap. Honestly, the top lamp is only there for a little ambiant temp boost and for the kitty sauna.

You should replace the sand with some paper towels/tile/repti carpet. Sand = impaction = sick/dead gecko. You need a UTH (under tank heater) It should cover 1 third of the tank. Gecko's need under belly heat to digest food. There should be about 3 dry hides inside the tank. 1 over the hot side another on the cold side and another in between the hot and cold side. You also need a thermometer. Digital one's are more accurate. The hot side should be around 90 - 95f. The cold side (if I'm not mistaken) should be around 75f. There also should be a humid hide. Get some sphagnum moss or paper towels, place them in a hide and mist it daily. The humid hide should be placed on the hot side so it stays toasty inside. Gecko's like heat. Hope this helps. :D

Dont your gex freak out with that cat on top of their home?

Not at all. The cats are always sleeping up there (one on each tank) and it doesn't phase the geckos at all. In fact the normal in the pics not only comes out regularly for drinks during the day but I swear he teases them with all his strutting around. The cats also watch them eat so I think they consider the cats the same as my kids. Annoying but easily ignored.
