Night Lights

Can Geckos see the lights at night, because i have a red night light in their to watch him at night and i leave it on over night, will that disturb him?

The red bulbs seem to be very visible to reptiles. If I need to use lights on any reptile overnight I use the black nightglow bulbs. The other option is a ceramic heat emitter.

I have read studies that state reptile eyes are designed to allow large amounts of light in order to see at night. a colored bulb may be difficult for us to see but to a reptile it can be clear as daylight and confuse the day night cycle.. I recommend ceramic or for best results Under the tank heater!

I use a red infered light for viewing. Low wattage of course. They are nocturnal.
