I don't know how to vote. I never turn the UTH off on the warm side so I guess my night and day temps are the same? Cool side is between 70 and 75 which is whatever the temp is in the room.

I also never turn off my UTH my air temps drop slightly at night as the central heating is not on but floor temps are the same both day and night.

My temps never change in my tubs...there is no day/night cycle. It is a steady 95*F hot spot, and 85*F air temp.

being that i live in a drafty old house my night temps drop considerably. the UTH is always running but i turn off the heat bulb and it drops to around 82-86 for the floor temp on the warm side (depending on how cold it is outside). in the day there's a hot spot of 90-92 degrees on the warm side.

on days when it's in the single digits outside it's a bit tough to keep the temps up.

In the winter, the cool end drops down to about 67 at night.
I have to use a 25W halogen heat bulb, which gives off very
little light, but makes in much more comfy in there for them.

69 and below.
At least the air temp is. My UTH stays on all the time and it's at 85F (90 on especially cold nights, like last week when it was consistently fourty three below)

During the day the cold end is between 68-75 and the hot end ranges from 84 to 90, with two basking spots that regularly hit 96.

I love my Herpstat ND, built in night drop feature.... set it and forget it! Day temp 91 and night drop to 78. Like clock work, my leos come out of their hides about 30 minutes after the temps drop and I let them roam around for a little while before feeding. I think the temp drop does trigger them in thinking that the sun has set and its time to go out "hunting for food"

At night, I just turn the UTH off, and leave a little 25w blue heat lamp on, which does really do much temp whise...its usuallly at 71-74* at night....during the day, the heat pad comes on and gets up to 93 ish...

Newbie here. I'm a little confused. Are the night and day temps supposed to be different? I have a UTH and a ceramic heat lamp, but stopped using the lamp when my warm side temps hit 100 the other day (although I think my thermometer might be wrong). The cool side is around 75. I have a probe thermometer on the warm side and a regular thermometer on the cool side.

Emily, 100 is too hot for your warm side, although since you turned off the CHL i guess you knew that...the UTH should be plenty heat wise, unless you live in the frigid artic, like some people here do, lol :) Get a probe thermometer that will sit on the floor of the warm side :)

Thanks, Leonewbie. I haven't turned on the lamp since I read this thread but my warm side is still in the 90s. I live in San Diego, but it's only about 75 out today, so I don't know why it's still too warm. The cool side is 70ish.
