I just wanted to share my joy and utter n00b-ness to photography. I finally got a non-digital camera for a beginning photography class at my college.

My step-dad decided to give me his old Nikon N70.

He has a crap load of different lenses for it, but one of them is a Nikon AF Nikkor 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6D lense. Which he said was good, but I have no utter clue.

Does this camera sound good for basic photography? I was thinking about taking pictures of my herps with it, and also using it for my outings to the Japanese Gardens near my home.

Also, has anyone had one of these before?

;) Thanks for your time, and forgive me for my complete stupid-ness when it comes to these things.

From what I remember, it's a pretty basic slr which is great to learn on. There isn't anything too fancy. I had a N90S and a F5 for awhile and loved them, but they are not a starter camera. I hope you do well in your class.:)
