No eggs for me?

I put my geckos together on New Year's Day. So far I haven't gotten any good eggs, in fact not really any eggs at all. I got a couple of infertile clutches from two females and none from others. I even seen one pair do the deed Jan 4th and no eggs from her yet. I had big plans to go to my local expo this year. All my females are virgins, could it be that they are waiting? I need some advice form some experienced breeders. This is my first season and I'm starting to feel a little down.

Are you sure your females are ovulating? They may just not have really gotten going on their breeding season yet. I know my season didn't start until Late February early March last year even though I had my gals paired right after New Years. Also, age might be a factor. I had a 40g 10 month old male I hoped to breed last summer but he showed little to no interest in girls until this January. Now at 17 months old he's breeding like a champ.

I know waiting is hard but I would give them a bit more time. If you get more than two infertile clutches in a row from the same female I might wonder if there is something going on but one or two is normal for a first time breeder.

Thanks. My males definitely want to breed. They took interest right away. I guessp the girls are just waiting for some warmer weather lol.

Yeah mine don't ovulate until February/march. Although this year my girl ovyd in January! They just may not be ready. Also if it's their first years breeding they might give you more infertiles.
