Could be a lot of things or could be nothing, and it could be the female.

Is she ovulating? Sometimes the males just know when the female doesn't want them.

It could be many reasons....

1. He's a She!
2. It's winter time and not a normal breeding season.
3. Female is not ovulating.
4. Male is not mature.
5. She is a He!
6. Temps are too cool.

There are other reasons. Why don't we start with you telling us a little bit more about your male and female, such as age & weight, food, setup, temps, supplements, etc.

Haha, I guess if both 1 and 5 are reasons it wouldn't be much of a problem.

I'm not trying to be rude so excuse this if it comes off that way but...why are you even trying to breed if you can't even tell when a female is ovulating?

Well yeah if they were both true then you'd still have a male and a female. That might explain not being able to tell ovulation too. ;)

But I think some people just can't see it, may be too afraid to handle their females in the manner needed some times to see the ovulation. Then again if the female is on the chunky side even breeders that know what they are looking for may not even see follicles till they turn into eggs. I have a female like that, she's so nice and plump that she hides being gravid very well. The only way for me to see follicles in her is to let her squirm a lot in my hand while I look. Then I may only get a split second view of them.

Great! Let us know if you manage to see follicles. She may not be ready as it's really not the right time of the year quite yet. Well unless you have made her think it's spring.
