Normal or Not Normal?

So I have 2 Leo's I got them oh maybe 3 days ago. They do eat and I saw them eat so its not like they are starving themselves because of adjustment, but they did this during the day. I don't see them come out at night very often. They come out at maybe sunset and stay out for a little bit and their night bulb kicks on after a while they go back in and they are gone for the night. They just sleep. I got the ZooMed Moonlite reptile bulb 60Watt because they'er cage gets so damn cold, since the temps where I live have dropped suddenly. It gives of a purplish light and it only illuminates about half the cage I have it over the hot hide so they stay warm. I have a UTH as well but it cools down at night to since the air temp drops.

So is it normal for them to only come out for part of the night and then go back into the hide? Is it just being in a new home, or do they all do this forever?

Is the light bulb bugging them do you think? Normally they go back in the hide when I come in the room and turn the light on.... should I come in with a flashlight or something and not turn on the overhead?

Please help me out here, I am new to this and I did my read about their care etc but after joining this forum and going through threads I have found my self facing contradicting information and I would much rather take the advice of other Leo lovers and not just a bunch of scientist saying this is what they need and this is what you must do when there is a better proven way (proven with experience of others). So pretty much I am trying to get my head on straight and make sure everything goes as it should and they have the safest most functional environment that brings them some sort of comfort or happiness.
