Are you the one with the Fuji camera? If so, thanks a bunch! I have been looking at cameras for awhile, but just can't warrant spending the "big bucks" on a camera just for decent lizard pics When I saw the post about the Fuji I got very excited and I've been a good girl this year, so Santa may bring it for me :main_thumbsup:

Yes I am the one that bought the Fuji FinePix S700 and I really do like it

I had longed for a Canon Rebel but I just don't have that amount of money to spend on a camera and I think that with more practice that this camera will do exactly what I want it to

My gf also bought the very same camera and she is thrilled with it
It also takes decent video clips too!!

Oops-I forgot to answer about settings-I usually use the Macro for the close-ups and I always leave it on image stabilization or whatever they call it as my hands are very wobbly
I am still playing with the different settings on it and with setting up just the right lighting for taking gecko pics

I think that with any camera that getting the right lighting is the key

I am trying to get the lighting just right-not to bright-not to dim- to not have to use the flash when working with the lizards

just my 2 cents
