is it normal for females to stop eating when they are ovulating?? Eliza hasn't eaten normally for a while and i just figured out that she is ovulating. could this be the reason for her weird habits??? she has been slowly losing weight and i jsut want to know if it is this or something bigger.
Also, how long do they ovulate for?

Is she with a male? Possibly pregnant. If not I might suggest giving her a soak in warm water for 20 minutes. Its possible she could become egg bound. I would read up on that.

It is common for females to go on hunger strikes when ovulating. We have about 8 doing that right now. After about a week or two they start eating normally again. We have had some maintain the same weight and some lose a gram or so during that time. How much weight has she lost, and how long has she not eaten?

im not sure exactly how much weight she has lost (i dont have a scale) but it is enough to be noticeable. she is not scary skinny, just skinnier than i would like her to be. she hasnt eaten in a while, she used to eat a cricket or a superworm everyonce in a while but as of late she hasn't eaten anything. :main_thumbsdown:

My leopard gecko is ovulating too, and hasn't aten much in the past 3 weeks. She will take about 2 crickets a week? Though her stool isn't runny or anything, and she hasn't lost any weight :) So is that bad?
