There was an article in "Florida Today" today about the senator who went to Capitol Hill about the legislation. He took in the skin of a 16ft (if I remember correctly) Burmese Python and talked about the little girl who was killed saying that "it won't be long before these snakes get to a visitor in the Florida Everglades." Ugh~

I figured this event would spark a fiasco...Unfortunate..And I would imagine its not just Florida but this is exactly what those hr669 creeps need to fuel there little hate fire..

This was just the ammunition that Sen Bill Nelson needed to start his campaign again. He's even made commercials about it.

I anticipate one of my do-gooder neighbors will contact Fish & Wildlife and local Animal Control to tell them I have snakes.

Let the mad Witch Hunt begin...

I recommend contacting and joining USARK (United States Association of Reptile Keepers). They, along with PIJAC, are doing the BEST they can to lobby for the rights of reptile keepers, and have had the House and Senate floors for this dangerous litigation that is coming up.

There is now a 'new' team of reptile proponents that are organizing a full-blown capture bounty of ferral Burms in the Florida Everglades. Personally, I support this in order to regain the natural ecological balance of the southern Florida swamplands. Irresponsible reptile keepers are ruining it for the rest of us by turing loose their large boas and iguanas in these fragile environments.

Please, please, please... help USARK by supporting and donating to the cause, and letting them be the voice of ALL reptile keepers in the country.

+1000!

USARK is like the Marines, Navy, Airforce, Army all wrapped into one organization for "us" herpers. I like that they support initiatives like the feral burm captures where they prove that responsible ways to handle invasive species can be accomplished in a cooperative fashion between opposing sides on Capital Hill. I also like that they defend against BS personal agendas by special interest groups, that are called bills such as HR669. They handle both sides of the "sword" with respect and tenacity. Herpers/Hobbyists/Pet owners as a network of USARK supporters are the bottom line of defense for USARK. Please consider becoming a supporter no matter the size of donation whether it be time or money or both. Don't let personal agenda's based on money and greed destroy our generation and future generation's chances at enjoying some of the most beautiful creatures the Universe has allowed us to interact with.

Please join USARK today... empower yourself to make a difference...
