I've been worried about my Maxie, she has lost a little girth in her tail and she's not eating much, ate only one cricket 4 days ago. I've been perusing the forum and came to the conclusion that the tank was too cool for her so I changed out the bulb out tonight to warm it up in there. My other leo is hearty and active, shows no sign that he's ill. All feces in the potty corner look normal (see info below). Just wanted to get some more experienced lizard lovers advice.

About your leo:
- Sex: believed female, I looked tonight and saw no chevron but she's still little (between 4-5in tail included)
- Age & Weight ?
- How long have you owned your leo: 6 weeks
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend) Pet store

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo: when I'm cleaning the tank I put her in a separate container and a few times this week to try and check her sex.
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. She's been hiding/sleeping more and eating much less than her first few weeks in her new home.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal) all fecals in the tank seem normal, she peed on me today and it seemed a bit cloudy compared to her companions' (which is clear and dries to white)
- When was the last time he/she went: today
C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on

lethargic and limited eating/disinterest in her food, although if I change things around in her habitat she wakes up and is active. been going on for about a couple weeks.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size 10 gal.
- Type (ex. glass tank) glass tank
- Type of substrate reptile carpet
- Hides, how many, what kind: 2, one stone one on the hot side and a half log covered in dampened moss on the cool side
B) Heating
- Heat source: light bulb on hot side and heat mat on side of tank on the cool side.
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side) hot side was 82f but I changed to a 100 watt bulb tonight so it's now at/above 90f, cool side is between 75f and 82f
- Method of regulating heat source: no method other than turning the lamp off, the mat stays on all the time.
- What are you using to measure your temps: sticky thermometers on each side of tank.
- Do you have any lights (describe) incandescent
C) Cage mates
- How many (males, females) one male
- Describe health, or previous problems: healthy, active, good eater/hunter.

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet: Crickets
- What you're feeding (how often, how much) I drop in about 10-12 crickets every other day for both geckos.
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect) dropped in the calcium dish I leave in the tank.
B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands) I leave Fluker's calcium with vit. D in the tank (started this a few days ago) and dust crickets initially when they go in the cricket keeper with Repashy Superfoods Leopard Gecko Plus
- What are you gut loading food with:gut loaded with Zoo Med Natural Cricket Care, and dusted with calcium.

Update: I upped the heat and separated her and her cage mate then left 5 crickets in. when I came home there were only 2 left so unless they are hiding under the carpet I'm hoping she ate them. Yesterday morning she seemed to go for them a couple times but didn't catch one so seemed to loose interest. She had no interest in the mealworms I tried giving her the other day...

So it looks like she ate them and then vomited. You could take these samples to a vet. You have one kinda locally in Bothell...I'll PM you the address.

I would definitely keep her separated from the male, until they are at least 50g each, 60g is better. It could be that she was being bullied by the male when you weren't looking, and wasn't getting enough feeders to start with, and the stress is causing her symptoms now.

On the other hand, she may just be sick anyway. You could try giving her some unflavored pedialyte in her water dish, but I would get her checked out.

I'm going to seperate them. I know Leo gets most the crickets at feeding time. How should go about doing the pedialyte? Should I give it to her straight or dilute it?

I separated the two of them and have been giving Max pedialyte to lick off her nose and added it to her water dish 50/50. I also tried some olive oil on her nose thinking she might have gotten impaction from the pet store substrate... it was several weeks ago but I figured a little oil might give her some calories. She's perked up since the pedialyte and isn't so shaky when she moves but she's still not eating. I've also given her a couple warm baths in fear that she's also getting dehydrated. Her feces is just white and clear urate now where before it was cloudy... I have an appointment with the vet Wednesday... I have no idea how much that is going to cost, hopefully not too much, just spent $233 on my cat who needs a followup :main_huh:. I'm hoping it's something a little medicine and care will fix... at least I've seen improvement in activity if not appetite. I just hope she poops the day of the appointment so they can test for parasites.:anxious:

Well I found out my regular vet hospital that I take my cats and dog to just hired a herp vet so I switched my appointment to them (Northwest Animal Care Hospital, super fantastic animal hospital and boarding facility!) and asked how much a check up is, definitely cheaper then my cat lol!

So I committed a no no according to the directions and moved the UTH from the side of the tank to under her new tote/habitat so with that and the water dish she's got a nice little sauna. I picked up regular mealworms seeing as she was not at all interested in the mini ones after she regurgitated five of them... I put one down in front of her and she went right for it so I gave her a second. I didn't want to give her more in fear it would be to much all at once. So far so good and no vomiting but no poops either... hopefully most of it goes back to her tail! We go to see Dr. Turner tomorrow morning. I'm hopeful that she just needed a warmer tummy and has a diva streak that makes her a picky eater.

On a different note her old cage mate had a very successful shed today and all the stuff I ordered to spruce up their habitat along with a second UTH came today so they'll have new vinyl tile flooring after I cut it to fit. I put in a new humid shelter and a nifty silk plant to crawl on and hide under. Leo seemed pretty happy with all of it and a dish of dusted mealworms tonight. He was sitting looking out of his warm shelter entrance at me and the new furniture:main_thumbsup:. I'm hoping Maxie gets better soon so she can enjoy it all too.
