Not firm not watery

My female laid a clutch on the 27th of April. When she first laid them I thought they were good. They felt right for newly laid eggs but then a day went by and they didn't firm up to the normal level. Now its been about six days and although the eggs don't feel like water balloons they aren't really all that firm either. I thought there might be too much humidity so I took the tub of water I had out of the incubator after about the second or third day.

How long before I definetly know these eggs are bad?

Till they rot!!

Usually they firm up to something like a stale marshmallow within a few hours. Most likely they are not fertile if they are still soft. But I would still leave them in the incubator just in case, you never know.

ive got 2 water balloons in my incubator right now. one appears unfertilized, but the other definitely has a baby leo inside because i can see it moving. i would incubate them and see what happens, because you never know.

Day 8:
They are still the same consitiency as when I put them in the incubator. I don't know how to candle them so I have know idea if they are fertile or not. Usually my infertile eggs don't make it past two weeks so I'm not out of the woods yet but they are normally softer then these so I'm hoping. I'll keep you guys posted.

Day 31:

The eggs firmed up after about 2 weeks. Everything is going good and I hope to see a hatchling in the next week or two

**Justin how are yours doing?

sorry for the late reply, but i just saw this. as expected, one was unfertilized and did nothing (glowed yellow still), but the other one hatched earlier today, and produced a very healthy and very vocal patternless baby.

fyi, the egg ended up being about 1.5 inches long and over 3/4 of an inch in diameter!
