Does anyone know why some geckos do not grow to their full potential? I have a female who is small and the vet said she will most likely not grow anymore, but it shouldn't be a problem. I was also reading that geckos should be a certain weight before breeding. She has been laying eggs, but infertile. Is this dangerous for her?

My friend gave me a Leopard Gecko he bought at a local pet store that is hovering at 35 grams who seems to be the same as yours. For the 2 months I've had her, she's eaten normally, just not grown any. When I put her next to my other Leopard Geckos, they dwarf her.

I purchased a beautiful little girl from a local breeder last August and she stopped growing about 4 months ago. She has a big overbite and I know she has problems eating, but we give her a lot of 1-on-1 feeding time and she eats like a pig. She just doesn't grow. She happens to be the sweetest of all our leos. We accepted her small size a while ago and it suits her well. She is PRECIOUS! :)

As far as the infertile eggs question: As I have never bred I know that my oldest female seems to have a harder time absorbing her eggs as seasons pass. Longer spells of not eating... longer dehydration periods. I do understand from researching that infertile eggs are way more times absorbed than layed.

Both leos are in great health and spirit. :) I wouldn't worry too much!
