numbers.. i feel stupid

What do the numbers mean?
for example

1.2 Tangerine Tremper Albino

or
2.4.11 leopard geckos

a lot of people have them in their message signatures?

first # is male. like 1.0= 1 male

2nd # is female. like 0.2 = 2 females

3rd # is undetermined. like 0.0.11= 11 unknown/unsexed

male.female.unsexed

So 1.2.3 = 1 male, two female and three unsexed

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. I belong too a herp group in myspace and that question was brought up not too long ago.
