Nutrition differences?

Are the beetles that come from mealworms any more or less nutritious for leos or is it just about the gut load presently I use natural oatmeal oats and baby carrots for all my feeders. Has anyone noticed if the beetles are more stimulating to leos like crix are?

Don't feed beetles. Little nutritional benefit and the chicin (sp?) is hard for them to digest.

I would think they're too hard "shell" for the leos; I also heard they taste and smell aweful to the gecko...don't know if that's true...

I put one in there and he licked it and turned his nose up who know where it is now he may have ate it or it may still be in there hiding. It was a newly formed beetle so it wasn't that hard but still I won't be feeding them anymore. He never has like mealies he just won't eat em'.
