I have an O-B-E-S-E gecko... Libby. She is a normal-sized gecko lengthwise, but at times she weighs up to 100 grams. She looks like Jabba the Hut. Poor baby, I only feed her once a week and she's still a blob! She is my favorite gecko in my entire collection because she is sooo chill. I'll get a photo of her after this weekend when I get home.

I think I at least have 1 obese gecko, Whitie. Here is a pic of her:

She peaks at 90+ grams every year before winter. I only feed her every 3 days with either 12 mealworms or 3 silkworms (she doesn't have a dish full of mealworms with her 24/7). She seldom climb on her wood and stuff, and she sleeps 90% of time...

I also have a non-giant male that has HUGE pockets behing the arms, and he tips the scale at 115g! He gets 1 roach every 3 days.

Bonnie, that's what my Libby looks like!!! She gains so much weight this time of year, too.

Even geckos get fat around the holidays :p

lol. Marcia! You're too funny. :D We have two fatter geckos but nothing like that! I love rolly pollie geckos!

+1. I love holding geckos that have that extra girth (junk in the trunk). They feel more robust and for some reason are much more calm.

This is a great topic. Thanks for the pic, Gothra! I, myself, have been wondering when 'nice 'n chunky' is too much. lol I'm sure, just as with humans, it's not the healthiest thing, but the chunky leos are so dang cute! :main_yes:
