Odd fluid and behavior

My sub adult female Leopard Gecko was standing on her hind legs hugging the side of the tank when I got home last night. I took her out and she was a little cold but acting normal. I just got home from class and there are several dried drops of a fluid ranging from pink to almost brown. I picked her up and checked her out and again she's acting fine. The strange fluid had to come from her, she's on paper towels so it was easy to spot. Should I be worried?

If it's the one in your avatar I would take her to the vet asap. Her tail is way too fat and can be having some serious internal issues.

Her tail has always been very fat. The end is deformed due to the temp when she was in her egg.

I don't want to scare you but I will tell you what happened to a bearded dragon I had. I came home one day and saw maroon colored liquid in his tank. He was acting normal but felt cold. A week later I found him dead. I had a necropsy done and it showed he had fecal impaction, infection, internal bleeding and died from septicemia. This might not be the case for you but better to be safe than sorry and take her to the vet.

I would suggest a vet visit, and if at all possible getting a fecal done to see if she might have parasites. Only thing I can thing of.

Our boy Thor had gone for eye issues, following week the hubby checked in on him before bed and found a pool of blood around his poop. Took it in that morning and sure enough he was loaded with parasites. :main_no: Poor boy doesn't have any luck. But he's got one more week to go on his Panacure.

Doesn't sound good! She has been regularly pooping thankfully and there's nothing near her poop, just a water-like pink dried drop near her house on the warm side. I'll change the paper towels to see if she uses the bathroom tonight.

Is she housed with a male? maybe eggbound? I have never breeded but I have read females can produce infertile eggs and let out some pink fluid. Lift her tail slightly and see if any fluid leaks out.

No male, no boyfriends for my girl! Mystery solved! I was doing some work when I heard a gross watery sucking sound, I looked over and saw Liam in her bathroom corner. I walked over and there was a large wet stool. Hopefully she's okay.

Who knows, maybe you spilt some juice or something while you were leaning over her cage:)

I don't agree that it's normal. I have had geckos for 15 years and never seen pink urine, only clear. If pink urine was normal you would have received alot more responces telling you so. Like someone stated above maybe something dripped in the tank without you noticing.

I've had sometimes, when they eat a cricket or other prey, some fluid squirts out of the insect and it will dry a dark reddish brown. Kinda looks blood, but I've seen the splat so I know it's not blood.
