Some background...... I went out to Tremper's yesterday and picked up a pair of Tremper Albino females. The bigger girl is ready to breed and has follicles (i guess that's the correct term). I have the girls in a seperate cage from the male.
Now my male is doing something strange that I've never seen him do before. He's reaching his head around like he's trying to touch his butt. :main_laugh: I don't know any other way to describe it. I picked him up and turned him over and seems he has a dark area, under the skin, at the rear. He wasn't pleased about being picked either and he's normally very docile.
As I was typing this I decided to go back in there and check him. He was very docile when I picked him up and the dark area is gone. His cage is totally clean so it wasn't poop. :main_laugh:
The girls cage is within a couple of feet but I have no idea what a Leopard Gecko's sight range is. Could it be the females? Does an ovulating female produce a scent that can be detected by males a few feet away?
