oh boy there are eggs

About a week ago during my daily cleaning of one of my gecko tanks I found eggs. This was a big shock due to the fact that I thought that Tinkerbell was to little to produce eggs she is only 24 grams. The other gecko in the tank I thought was a female. I know that Tink is the one who deposited them due to the fact that she got skinny really quick.

I have made homemade incubator and the eggs seem to be doing ok. She layed 2 eggs. One I can see some veins and is kinda hard where the other one is getting soft. I will keep them in the incubator until they start to show signs of uckiness. I have also seperated them.

My question is with Tink being so little would she have more eggs and what can I do to help her if she does? She is my first and I worry about her.

Thank you in advance for all your help

I have had the same thing happen, expect the female just did it for fun, she wasn't breed. I would say if she keeps lying, there isn't anything you can do to stop her from lying, and you just have to let her do her thing. She should be able to store sperm, for about three clutches, so that is how many fertile eggs you are likely to get. However mine stropped at one clutch (2 eggs) so that is most likely what yours will do as well.

I hope that is all she drops she looks so bad. But she is still eating and comes out every day to see me. We will have to see.

How old would a female have to be to develop eggs? I thought she would have to be closer to 40lb and a year old. I think she is only like 6 months at the most.

Last question promise. What should the Humidity be in the incubator? I am running about 89 to 91 is that ok?

A 24 gram gecko is too small and too young to lay eggs. You are lucky it didn't kill her. Keep your geckos separated until you can properly sex them, and make sure your little girl has plenty of calcium!
