Decided to get back into breeding mice for the snakes. I currently have 3.3 bp's, 2.2 leos, and 0.1 savannah monitor. I decided to start small and get a 1.2 trio of 4 week old mice. I figure(hopefully) in about 2 months I may start having babies. I have them in a 10 gallon and know I will need to separate weanlings as they grow out. I have no problem with freezing them and using them for later. Any suggestions for me to remember? Thanks for the help.

OOOOOOOOOKAY. Since I have been hit with a plethora of info, I figured I would describe my set up. I have a 1.2 in a 10 gallon. They are currently 5 weeks old. I am feeding them lab blocks with alternating treats of mealies, seeds, fruits and dog food(protein 24%) and the occassional milkbone piece. I do have other tanks for grow out. I just wanted to know how others did their setups so I can be sure I am doing it correctly. I know it's not rocket science but just wanted to be sure. :p

it is so easy. Buy a male and a female. Get them separate cages but put them together at first for about a week. Or you can leave him in until you are sure she is preggo. Then put the male in his own cage. Momma mouse will do the rest.

I thought it was best to not separate them. It makes it difficult to return the female back to the group. So far my male is definitely interested in the girls. He has been chasing them and trying to give them "hugs"(it's what I'm telling my daughter, daddy isn't ready for her to hear the birds and bees talk yet LOL). Hopefully in a month of so, some babies will be here.
