Ok so last night things seemed normal....lol My girl Teyla has been eating fine, acting normal nothing out of the ordinary so i didn't think anything....lol

But I wake up this morning to find her standing above 2 eggs in the moist hide...lol The eggs are a little soft, but they are heavy and the mossy stuff in the hide is all over them....lol they are not wet.

I read on a website that I can just use a small plastic container with a lid, and put it under the heatlamp ion the tank with my geckos, I wanted to check with you all and see if this is ok.

I do not have alot of money right now due to health issues, and this was completely unexpected....lol so cannot afford to buy an expensive incubator.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....lol I need an idea fast of what type of plastic containers would be idead. I will be going out to get vermiculite today, and the tank is always at 90f so a good temp.

This is what I woke up to....lol

hovabators are generally 40-50 dollars sometimes less...has she been exposed to a male? if so then the eggs could be fertile...if not the eggs will be infertile...good luck..we all know how money problems are. my incubator is homemade with a igloo cooler but that cost about 60ish to make with the flexwatt and thermostat.

thanks guys, yes she lives with a male and 2 other females.....lol but I had taken him out for a bit cause she was getting a bit testy with him....lol

They had been together for just over a year and this is the first time she ever layed eggs....lol

Keith: I wouldn't put it directly under the heat lamp, just in the tank with it. Cause everything I saw and read said to keep the container at 80-90f and my tank is always 90f...lol

what are your house temps? if it is high 70s to low 80s you would be fine to leave them in a place where the temps dont change much like a closet like area and just make sure the substrate stays moist. i have heard of folks hatching them out like that, if you can't afford a hovabator. also look at Craigslist there might be folks selling their hovabators, i have seen a few in my area thats an option depending on your finances.

Sunshine...i added the pics after....lol Thanks, I think she is gorgeous...

The tank is always between 80-90f at all times, it doesn't flucuate much.

Thanks Keith.

Went to the store and they gave me some stuff to put the eggs in and a container, so it is sitting in the tank now. Hopefully they are fertile and hatch but if not there is always the next batch....lol

This is my first set of eggs so very hopeful, but staying realistic too....lol

You may want to separate the male if you don't plan to breed so the other females don't lay eggs.

I don't mean to be rude, but if you can't afford a $40 incubator, how will you afford to feed and house the babies? It may be better to freeze the eggs and discard them.

No offence Tony, but I get paid tomorrow. I wasn't prepared for this clutch, because there were no signs. I checked her belly and there were no signs of her being pregnant so I figured I had time to get what I needed.

The only incubator I have seen around here for sale is $180 and my meds were a bit more important then that....lol

Housing is NOT a problem, as I have a 10 gallon aquarium and 2 20 gallons in my house already, aswell as an 80 gallon tank. believe me, I have more then enough space to house the babies...lol I just needed fast help with an incubator idea.

I also, already have a home lined up for the babies, IF they hatch, as of the minute I bought my male and female. My best friend is taking them(it if only 1)

I also have my daughter who wants 1 and a few friends.....But as I said, She showed no signs of being pregnant so i thought I had time to get the money and things I needed. Now that I have a set up, i can get better prepared for next time and order a cheaper incubator offline and it will have time to arrive. but ordering it today and the eggs already being here I needed something fast.

Thanks everyone for the help. If anyone has any other homemade incubator ideas please let me know.

I would need to know tools used to make them, and how to do it. Thanks so much.
