after reading about every ones elses dubias, I HAD to see what all the fuss was about. I bought them, they came today, they are SO huge I think they could have driven the mail truck themselves!!!!!

Do YOUR leos eat these full size? I dunno, I've had turks for the last 1.5 yrs and they are MUCH smaller, these dubias are SCARY!.... I'm sure glad my partner is out of town right now and has NO clue I've gotten these :)

Alright, I guess I can just feed young sub adults and nymphs. How long do these things take to mature>?

They are slow, I think if my big leos are willing to take them, that will help. I dunno tho, they might be scared too!:main_thumbsup:

Mine will eat the adults, sure. The problem is I don't want to feed my adult females, and the males have those wings. You can still feed them, but the poos come out with the wings still pretty much intact, so I worry that feeding the males might cause impaction. As the vet said "that's a lot of roughage for a little gecko."

Yeah, that would be a definite possibility. I was trying to buck up the courage to do it, but I feel like a mean little boy.

If you do- try to get the healthiest looking bugs to feed- I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the male bugs fight. If you get the shiniest males to feed, then over time you will be selecting for the 'losers' and thus for nicer bugs overall. If you feed the scraggly looking ones, you're selecting for nastier and nastier bugs.
