well, i was really bummed when i pulled out my 3rd hatchling of the season, to see its eyelids were even worse than the previous 2. im thinking it had to be from the huge temperature swing problems i was having in the incubator. unfortunately this one is going to have to be put down as it is the only humane thing to do. but i then saw another hatchling from a different female, and pulled that one out. Im horrible at keeping records, and i cant remember if i bred one of my patties with my male mack, but i could swear that is a patternless mack! and the best new of all, is it appears to be my first perfectly healthy hatchling!!

second pic: what do you all think, patternless mack?

Sorry to hear about the eyelid deformity... The second one could be a Patty Mack, but the ones I've seen have been more grey and black. Let's see what others say...

I actully had an eyelid problem like that from my very first hatchling of the year, her clutchmate came out normal though and I havent had any other problems like that since. I know mine didnt come from a temp spike though, im guessing it had to come from some sort of vitamin deficiency

im guessing you mean patty * male mack het patty? if it was just a patty to a mack then your records are alittle off because you would only get mack het pattys, and normal het pattys :p

unfortunately my records dont exist (i know, shame on me) so if it is a mack het patty, arent both of those traits dominant? so would it show traits from both animals?

Yes mack is co dom, but patternless is recessive, so the mack would have to be mack het patternless, otherwise he couldnt have been the sire of that hatchling

Im still figuring out this morph and breeding thing so please bear with me :D

The female who laid the eggs was a patty. the male could have either been a patty, or a mack snow. the mack snow wasnt really stated as being a het patternless, but i guess there is always the possibility of that. either way though, from just looking, have you seen patternless hatchlings with that light of color? i only ask because the other 2 patties that hatched last week have a lot of yellow and are darker than this little one. thanks for bearing with me!

maybe i have no idea what i actually have as breeders and its an albino patty mack. could that even be possible? here are pics of the breeders in question:

im going to go out on a limb and guess that your hatchling is just a normal patty, sired by the male patty. I dont have baby pics of her, but I did have a female patty that I bought at like 10 grams, and she was almost identical in color, and now that she is growing its ovious she is just a normal patty

How long have you had him? Have you had him fecaled? Chain stores, or pet stores in general can be scary places to get a gecko from, never know what you might end up with. I was reading a crypto story online the other day that was origionated from a petco gecko

Hahaha, im not that much of a newbie :D . I picked him up about 9 months ago when he was still a sub-adult.quarantined by himself for 4 months. I also worked for a vet for 3 years (quit last summer to go back to school), and im still friends with the vet, so i can do fecals and any other tests for pretty cheap (which i do take advantage of). thanks for the concern though.
